What is cellulite:
Cellulite looks like a bumpy skin and has cottage cheese appearance, with peaks and valleys, usually on upper arms, buttocks, abdomen, hips and thighs, and is mostly seen in women.
What puts you at higher risk of having cellulite?
Smoking, Multiple Pregnancies, high Estrogen levels.
Cellulite has 4 grades.
Grad-1, Is visible when you pinch the skin, and feels cool to touch
Grad-2, Is visible when you stand but disappears when laying.
Grade-3, Is visible weather you are standing or laying,
Grade-4, Is Nodular and Linear cellulite, and s always noticeable.
But, you can have different grades at different body parts
Treatment Options for Cellulite are:
Mesotherapy, Cavitation Ultrasound, Microneedling with PRP / PRF, Vacuum Rolling Radiofrequency.
Mesotherapy:
Improves Cellulite by ONE grade only,
Requires 10 treatment sessions once a week to see initial results.
Maximum of 10ml per day injection with solution mixture of: (Phosphatidylcholine 7ml, L-carnitine 2ml, and 1% lidocaine 1ml).
Phosphatidylcholine/Sodium Deoxycholate is also used for fat burning under chin, know under brand name (Kybella).
If injected superficially breaks the fibrous bands of Cellulite,
When injected deeper it kills Fat Cells
It can serve 2 purposes if needed.
CANT’T BE USED: Below knees, or if Pregnant.
Simple Procedure Steps:
Patient Clean the area of skin with Hibiclens antiseptic at home.
Before injection we may numb the skin with topical anesthetic.
Maximum of 10ml per injection per treatment day
Depth for injection is selected depending on treating type.
For Cellulite we inject 0.2ml, 1-2cm apart, at 0.5cm depth.
Fat Killing we inject 0.5ml, 1-2inches apart, at 1.0 cm depth.
5 injections of 0.2ml for cellulite = 1ml total injection
5 injections of 0.5ml for fat burning = 2.5ml total injection
One arm or thigh requiring 25 injection.
Both arms OR both thighs require 50 injection.
AfterCare
There is some pain due to local inflammation after injections.
But you need the inflammation for cellulite breakdown.
DO NOT take anti-inflammatory medications as Ibuprofen for pain.
After the injections you can use topical Arnica (gel or cream) for 2-3 days 3 times per day to decrease the burning sensation and swelling.
Avoid sun exposure during the 10 week treatment course.
For pain use only TYLENOL, as it kills the pain but does not decrease the inflammation.
