Vivenci CO2 Laser Under Eyes Resurfacing is a specialized procedure using fractional CO2 laser energy on the under eyes areas, correcting Under Eyes Bag and Circles by stimulating Collagen production and Skin resurfacing with minimal tissue damage and short downtime. This procedure does not require corneal shields placement under the eyelids, but does require topical Numbing Cream over the skin and special goggles over the eyes.

Post-treatment

  • Skin has 3 days of redness, and feels like sandpaper for 1 week.

  • Sunburn sensation is normal for 24 hours after treatment.

  • After procedure apply “Aquaphor” for 3 days, then switch to moisturizing “CeraVe” cream.

  • Avoid makeup and sunscreen for a minimum of 48 hours after treatment.

  • Recommend to Sleep with a clean pillowcase with head slightly elevated.

  • Avoid Direct sunlight for 48 hours,

  • Apply Sunscreen minimum for at least 3 months SPF30+.

  • Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and steam rooms for 1 week after treatment.

  • Avoid exercising for 24 hours after your treatment.

Complications

  • Swelling, Redness, Itching,

    • Risk is reduced by oral steroids.

  • Acne and Herpes flareup.

    • Risk is reduced by Antibiotics.

  • Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH).

    • Higher occurrence in olive skin and dark skin clients.

    • Can be worsened by excessive sun exposure.

    • Risk is minimized by use of sunscreen, and avoidance of excessive sun exposure for 6 months after laser procedure.

    • Bleaching creams are given after 3 weeks for 1 to 2 months, if darkening develops.


Risk reduction

  • Avoid sun exposure for 4-6 weeks before treatment.

  • No self-tanning for at least one week before treatment.

  • Discontinue exfoliants 1 week prior to treatment.

  • No Accutane use for 6 months prior to treatment.

  • Pre treatment prophylactic medication are discussed during consultation.

  • Post treatment prophylactic prescriptions are given on the day of treatment.
