Post-treatment
Sunburn sensation is normal for 24 hours after treatment.
Skin has 3 days of redness, and feels like sandpaper for 1 week.
Aftercare starts with Aquaphor for 3 days, then CeraVe cream.
Apply Sunscreen minimum for at least 3 months SPF30+.
Avoid Direct sunlight for 48 hours after treatment
Avoid Hot tubs, Saunas, Steam rooms for 1 week after treatment.
Avoid exercising for 24 hours after your treatment.
Complications
Hyperpigmentation may occur in brown and olive skin clients, therefore, bleaching creams are recommended after the first months of skin resurfacing, and 1 week prior to treatment. Loratadine (claritin) is also helpful to decrease the risk of hyperpigmentation
Herpes Soars Flare-ups may occur as a complication in chronic carriers after laser treatment, therefore anti-viral medication are started 1 day before treatment for 10 days during recovery.
We usually give Zyrtec (anti-histamine) to decrease itching during aftercare
Infections may occur at the treatment site, therefore, oral antibiotics are given for 10 days during aftercare. In rare cases when skin infections occur at the treatment site, they may complicate with scarring.

Avoid sun exposure for 4-6 weeks before treatment.
No self-tanning for at least one week before treatment.
Discontinue exfoliants 1 week prior to treatment.
No Accutane use for 6 months prior to treatment.
Pre-treatment prophylactic medication is discussed during consultation.
Post-treatment prophylactic prescriptions are given on the day of treatment.
